Leadership

Academy leadership is structured to provide accountability and performance on a daily basis. Reporting to an active board of directors, the Principal oversees the quality of education and works closely with children, families, faculty and staff. Board members possess the experience and know-how to build successful organizations and have a long-term interest in Catholic education. The board reports to Bishop Jaime Soto, who is firmly committed to providing quality Catholic education throughout the Diocese of Sacramento, particularly to those who feel it is financially or academically out of reach for their families.

Principal

Laura Allen

Laura Allen is passionate about helping more children receive the blessings of an excellent Catholic education. To Ms. Allen, 30 years in Catholic education has been a ministry, not a job.

She left her position as principal of St. Mary School in Sacramento to begin her work with Saint Patrick SUCCEED Academy. During her 11 years at St. Mary School, her accomplishments included expanding programs, increasing enrollment to 365 students (the largest in the diocese), bringing new computers to every classroom and new technology to the school computer lab.  In 2004, after years of planning, she opened the new Sister Cabrini Center. This modern, state-of-the-art building houses the music and arts programs, administrative offices, a science lab and a chapel. “I’m going to bring one of these buildings to Saint Patrick SUCCEED Academy, too.”

She’s excited about bringing the qualities and the vision of Saint Patrick SUCCEED Academy to life. She is even more excited to work closely with school families to build a school that reflects the dreams they have for their children’s education.

Ms. Allen, a lay member of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, or Loretto Sisters, holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, a bachelor’s degree in physical education from California State University, Sacramento and a lifetime multiple subject teaching credential from National University. She also holds a California single subject teaching credential in physical education and has taught at St. Philomene’s and St. Robert’s Catholic Schools in Sacramento, and St. Bride’s and Queen of All Saints Schools in Chicago. She has also served as Director of Curriculum for the Diocese of Sacramento School Department, and as Parochial Athletic League Director.

"I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t believe Saint Patrick SUCCEED Academy is the best opportunity for children from all circumstances to receive a quality Catholic education."
